Liquid lipsticks are usually glossy in texture but colorbar has innovated a very unique concept by bringing Rich and Bright matte liquid lipstick trend to India with the launch of 8 MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICKS. I am a big fan of colorbar!! The name of this range is called “Kiss Proof Lip stains” which means it is a non-transferable lip stain. The winter and festive seasons is all about bright colors so I was really excited to try them out. I ended up buying 2 from this range Hollywood and Blush Crush. Yayy :D

My Experience with Colorbar 001 Hollywood and 004 Blush Crush Kiss Proof Lip Stain  

Packaging

The outer paper carton is similar to other lipsticks from Colorbar, The classy silver carton that has all the details about the product including ingredients, price, expiry date etc. The lipcolor comes in the combination transparent and metallic long silver tube with silver cap. The transparent strip along the length of the tube helps you to identify the color. The bottom of the tube has a sticker with its color name and code.

The Applicator

The Colorbar Kiss Proof Lip Stain comes with a bent applicator inside which gives your lips effortlessly uniformed color ! There is a doe foot sponge applicator attached to the cap of the lip stain, which makes the application supeerrrrrr easssyyyyy!! <3 <3 The stick of the applicator is just apt in size. It has this tiny hole in the center, which is probably designed to pick up the right amount of the product so that you don’t have to slope again and again unless you want to go for second swipe.

Texture and Pigmentation

The texture is absolutely smooth and creamy with mild vanilla scent. It applies with a slightly glossy finish (See the first swatch)

but dries within seconds after the application resulting in complete B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L powder Matte Finish <3 (See my second swatch :D ) which leaves no strong stain behind!!

One thing, I like the most about it that Its so light weighted on your lips that you tend to forget if you have applied anything. :* The lip Stain is extremely pigmented that you might not need the second swipe. however you can layer it to make the color intense. Once it is set the color does not transfer at all and stays put exactly as you applied. However it may highlight flaky lips if you haven’t exfoliate your lips before applying it.Since the texture is too creamy, you have to be cautious while application as the shaky hands or a little over application of lip stain will give a untidy looks.

Shade 

001 Hollywood shade  

A magnificently bold red color ever. It is a perfect red carpet shade as per its name! This rich red color would be very flattering across all complexions to the core. I think every lady should have this one in her collection. This is undoubtedly my favorite shade of the entire Colorbar Lip Stain lot.

004 Blush Crush

A bold fuchsia pink with neon undertones. You just cant simply ignore this beautiful shade, this will also certainly compliment all skin tones. This bright color is just perfect for festive season. My 2nd favorite from the range.

002 Royal Pink – Soft cool toned light pink shade.

003 Girlie – Barbie pink shade.

005 Palm Beach- Soft peach shade.

006 Mauve Dusk – Light berry/wine shade.

007 Haute Latte – Nude shade with brown-pink undertones.

008 Rustic – Beautiful and very wearable orange toned brick red shade. I might buy this too and this will be probably my 3rd favorite color from this range.

Staying Power

Mostly, colorbar lipsticks are very comfortable to wear. Talking about this range, it doesn’t budge until you have a heavy meal. Though its transfer resistant so doesn’t easily transfer to cups etc. but it does come off a little if you rub your lips accidentally. It stays on for about 5+ hours on my lips Afterwards, it starts to come off very unevenly, especially from the center of the lips. I would not suggest a touch ups with these lip stains rather apply a fresh coat after removing the earlier one or else you will end up with uneven patchy lip stain on lips. I would also suggest applying lil lip balm before you apply these Lippy Stains.

Cons of Colorbar 001 Hollywood and 004 Blush Crush Kiss Proof Lip Stain

• Slightly drying after a while.
• A bit pricey.
• Re-application is required as touchups are not recommended.
• Highlight any type of flakiness in the lips.

MAB Recommendation

Overall, I am extremely happy with these super gorgeous lip Stains. Definitely one of the most long lasting lipsticks I’ve tried! If you are looking for super pigmented matte lipsticks in lightweight formula then go for Colorbar Kiss Proof Lip Stains without even thinking. It’s worth every bit of the money. Highly Recommended. :*  :*
